A Durham-based housebuilder joined forces with local radio to provide Christmas gifts for local children.

Bellway Durham donated £300 to TFM Radio’s Cash for Kids campaign as well as giving a collection of presents that had been gathered by staff members across the division’s various development sites and offices.

TFM’s Cash for Kids is a charity that supports children and young people in South Durham, Teesside and North Yorkshire who are disabled, disadvantaged or suffering from abuse or neglect.

Charity Manager Amiee Littlefair said: “Everyone at Cash for Kids would like to thank Bellway for this generous donation of £300 as well as the bundle of toys and gifts.

“Every Christmas we make it our mission to help ensure that thousands of local children wake up to a gift on Christmas morning who would otherwise be forgotten. Last year in the North East we secured gifts for 49,887 children who normally receive nothing at Christmas and we gave them the Christmas spirit and belief they have been longing for.”

Head of Sales for Bellway Durham, Debbie Foster, said: “We are always looking for ways in which we can support various projects in the areas where we’re building new homes, and Cash for Kids is a great example of a charity that we can help.

“Cash for Kids does incredible work to help out vulnerable children in the area and we were more than happy to be involved in their wonderful Christmas mission.”
